Wind-Driven Fire in Field North Of Santa Ana River Bottom Stopped
The non-injury "Crestmore Fire" was reported at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Crestmore Road and Mission Inn Avenue in Jurupa Valley.

JURUPA VALLEY, CA — A wind-driven brush fire that erupted Friday north of the Santa Ana River bottom in Jurupa Valley scorched just over an acre before it was stopped.
The non-injury "Crestmore Fire" was reported at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Crestmore Road and Mission Inn Avenue, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple county and Riverside Fire Department engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames fanned by 22 mph winds periodically gusting to 41 mph in an open field.

The brusher was bound by roads and had little growth potential, with no structures in its path, according to reports from the scene.
Firefighters stopped the blaze's forward rate of spread just after 2 p.m. Full containment was expected by 3 p.m.
