BEAUMONT, CA — One lucky Powerball ticket was sold in Beaumont — matching five numbers, minus the Powerball, the California Lottery confirmed Tuesday. According to the agency, it's one of three in the entire state of California, with prizes totaling an estimated $1,149,661 each.

The winning ticket was sold at the Oak Valley 76 Station at 1815 Oak Valley Village Circle in Beaumont, just north of Interstate 10.

The single $2.09 billion Powerball ticket was sold in Altadena, according to the California Lottery.

"Not only did California have the BIG #Powerball winner, three more tickets matched five numbers missing just the Powerball in Gardena, Beaumont, and San Francisco," the California Lottery tweeted on Tuesday. "Congratulations to all our players!"

Beaumont's Oak Valley 76 store manager Jasmine Castro was among the first to learn her store sold the winning Match 5 Powerball ticket.

"Are you sure?" she asked Patch, then laughed. "Someone's gonna have a great day."

All day Monday, customers shopping at the Oak Valley 76 Station bought tickets for the Powerball drawing, selecting quick picks and personal favorite numbers.

"Everybody was saying 'Good luck!' to each other, 'Hope you win!' and 'We'll buy you a car if we win!'" she told Patch.

She herself was among those buying a Powerball ticket at the new gas station, she said.

"Wow! Really? I hope it was (mine)," Castro laughed.

The Oak Valley 76 gas station and Circle K store have only been open since April and will now be considered a "Lucky Retailer" by California Lottery standards.

"It's my first time being a manager at a convenience store that sold a winning ticket," she said. "Now I've gotta go check my ticket."

Did you play? What would you do if you held the winning ticket?
