BRSSD Names Two New Principals

Cipriani and Redwood Shores elementary schools will each have a new principal starting in the 2013-14 school year.

When the school bells ring at Cipriani and Redwood Shores elementary schools next year, there will be two new faces in the principals' offices.

On Thursday night, Jennifer Gaboury and Bob Sherman were announced as new principals of Cipriani and Redwood Shores respectively.

Before a standing-room-only audience of educators, parents, and community members, Belmont-Redwood Shores School District board of trustees president Robert Tashjian announced the newly appointed heads of school.

Gaboury is a familiar face in the district. She is currently a fourth grade teacher at Nesbit, and her two children attend Cipriani.

"I'm excited to serve the community and support the needs of the students and staff of Cipriani, said Gaboury.

Sherman currently serves as the principal at John Muir Elementary School in the Cupertino School District.

Gaboury and Sherman are taking over for retiring principals Lisa Zachary (Cipriani) and Cherie Ho (RWS).

Both will start their new jobs at the beginning of the 2013-14 school year.
