School-Force Seeking Donations for 'Mardis Gras Madness'

Yes, there is a party going on right now in the Big Easy, but come Monday morning THAT celebration will be over and it will be time to start planning for the local Mardi Gras Madness event hosted by School-Force.

On March 9, School-Force (SF), the education foundation for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District will host its annual fundraiser, Mardis Gras Madness in the Bayview Dining Room at the College of San Mateo.

The success of this annual fundraiser depends on the generosity of members of the community. Organizers are seeking donations for the event's silent and live auction, and raffle to help reach SF's annual goal of $3 million.

The following is a portion of the fundraising letter recently sent out by organizers:

School-Force supports the six public elementary schools and one public middle school of Belmont-Redwood Shores by funding reading and science specialists, music programs, technology, smaller class sizes, and much more.

Last year, School-Force raised $1.5 million.  However, our 2012-2013 fundraising goal is $3 million because as attendance at our schools has increased nearly 40% over the last 6 years, funding from the state has simultaneously declined (see brssd.info for more details).

We welcome gifts of cash sponsorship, goods, services, gift certificates, vacation home rentals, or any other exciting item that may be included in our live or silent auctions to help raise funds to support our schools.

The deadline for donations to be included in all marketing materials is Friday, February 15.
