Thousands attended the summer games at Long Beach State this weekend, including closing ceremonies about 4 p.m. Sunday.
Thousands of spectators cheered as 1,100 athletes competed in the Special Olympics of Southern California's Summer Games Sunday at Long Beach State, where medals were bestowed and a festival atmosphere prevailed.
Closing ceremonies are always moving and joyful for the winners and their fans, and Sunday's was no different. From the volunteers celebrated to the pair of most inspirational athletes, even Miss Wheelchair.
Patch took a few photos and videos before the camera died, but met the talented Terrell C. Woods at closing ceremonies, and he generously shared his Flickr photo galleries with Patch. We also would love to see your snapshots from the two-day experience, complete with six events of various age categories.
