Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Surprises LA County Families With Shopping Spree

Dwayne Johnson is best known as "The Rock." But this holiday season, you can call him "Dwanta Claus."

The actor recently surprised a group of Los Angeles County families from a local YMCA with some free shopping and other giveaways at the Burbank Walmart. He posted a video of the initiative on social media.

"As parents we all know, there’s no greater joy than seeing our little ones be HAPPY & SMILE!," he wrote. "Meetings these families made my day ~ thank you everyone for being so kind and cool."

The families were told to come to Walmart, but didn't know what for. The video shows them gathering at the front of the store as Johnson walked in wearing a Santa had that red "Dwanta."

Johnson provided each family with a $500 Walmart gift card, along with a year's supply of products from Papatui, his men's care line.

Five families received a special golden ticket — which unlocked a major shopping spree.

“As long as you can fit it in the cart, on the cart and it stays in the cart, then you take it all home!," he said.

And the kids whose families didn't receive a golden ticket got something special too: He told them they could pick out any toy they wanted.
