2 Injured In Pico-Robertson Apartment Fire
Two people were injured in a fire at an apartment building in Pico-Robertson Monday morning.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Two people were rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out on an upper floor of a Pico-Robertson apartment building Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to a six-story building at 1115 S. Elm Drive, northeast of Pico Boulevard and Beverly Drive, before 11 a.m. Monday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
At the scene, firefighters found fire showing from a fourth-floor balcony.

Firefighters rescued a 94-year-old woman who was trapped in an apartment adjacent to where the fire started. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the LAFD.
Additionally, a 54-year-old man was also transported to a local hospital.

A crew of 44 firefighters were able to hold the fire to the unit of origin and knock down the blaze in less than 30 minutes.
"Traffic will be affected and handled by LADOT while companies overhaul damage and clear smoke from the building," the LAFD said.
