$2 Million-Plus Powerball Ticket Sold in L.A. County; Was It Yours?
The ticket matched all five numbers but missed the Powerball number and is worth $2.469 million.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Someone in Los Angeles County is $2.469 million richer Thursday morning. A ticket matching five numbers but missing the Powerball number in Wednesday night's drawing of the multi-state lottery was sold in the city, according to the California Lottery.
The lucky ticket was sold at Pacific Market, 2990 Pacific Ave. in Long Beach, which is also a winner. The retailer is expected to receive $10,000 or more in a bonus from Calottery.
Another winning ticket, also missing the Powerball number but matching all five numbers, was sold in Pennsylvania and is worth $1 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association, which conducts the game.

This is the second time this year someone in L.A. County won big in the Powerball drawing. Elizabeth Jones won $2,120,302 in the Feb. 8 Powerball drawing. Her ticket matched five numbers but missed the Powerball number. Had she picked the Powerball number, she would have been $255 million richer.
Jones bought her ticket at EJN Mini Mart, 2221 Palo Verde Ave. in Long Beach, which received a bonus of $10,601.51 for selling that lucky ticket.

Jones, who declined all media interviews, told Calottery that she’s not sure what her plans are for her newfound fortune.
California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.
There were no tickets sold with all six numbers, and the estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing is expected to grow to $50 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday were 8, 20, 46, 53, 54 and the Powerball number was 13. The estimated jackpot was $40 million.
The drawing was the first since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number is one in about 293 million, according to the Powerball website. The overall chance of winning a prize is one in 24.87.
The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
