Beverly Hills Couple Shot to Death in Car

No arrests have been made in the deaths of Jerriell and Sulema Wilborn, which happened near Slauson Avenue and the Harbor Freeway on Wednesday.

A Beverly Hills couple were shot to death Wednesday in a car near the Harbor Freeway in South Los Angeles, according to wire reports.

The two were identified Thursday as Jerriell M. Wilborn, 49, and wife Sulema Wilborn, 51, said Ed Winter of the L.A. County Coroner's office.

The shooting occurred about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday near the Harbor Freeway and West Slauson Avenue, Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Los Angeles Police Department said.

There have been no arrests, he said.

The female victim was driving a gray Chrysler 300, which crashed into a pole on Slauson Avenue, according to police. Investigators believe that a person or persons had fired upon the couple from another vehicle. The man died at the scene of the accident and the woman died at the hospital, according to wire reports.
