BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The removal of ficus trees on Robertson Boulevard has been halted until at least July 27 following a court order, the Beverly Press reported.

Thirty six ficus trees remain on Robertson Boulevard. City crews have controversially been removing trees as part of an ongoing sidewalk repair project. Officials say roots from the trees have damaged sidewalks and resulted in slip and fall claims, the Beverly Press reported.

During the next court session on July 27, a judge is set to decide whether to continue to prohibit the trees' removal through a preliminary injunction as part of the lawsuit filed by the Robertson Boulevard Special Task Force against the city.
