Beverly Hills Hires Arlen Eskandari As Building Official
Meet the man now in charge of building safety and plan review in Beverly Hills.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The city has a new person in charge of managing plan review and building inspection services. Arlen Eskandari was recently appointed city building official and assistant director of community development.
Eskandari succeeds David Yelton, who retired last month after 25 years working for the city.
“I am very pleased to welcome Arlen to this new role,” Assistant City Manager Ryan Gohlich said in a release. “His understanding of the City’s complex and technical codes and ordinances have prepared him well to lead the division and maintain the highest safety and quality standards that Beverly Hills requires.”

Eskandari has worked for the city for nearly a decade, most recently a deputy building official. He previously worked for Beverly Hills in various engineering roles.
Eskandari has over 20 years of experience in design, plan review, construction and project management.

Eskandari has a bachelors in civil engineering, a master's in structural/earthquake engineering. He's a registered professional civil engineer and a structural engineer.
He's also a certified project management professional and building official with the International Code Council.
