Beverly Hills Hires New Deputy City Manager

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The City of Beverly Hills hired a new Deputy City Manager, the city announced last week. Gabriella Yap was chosen after a "comprehensive and competitive recruitment process." She currently serves as Deputy City Manager for the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Reporting directly to the City Manager, Yap will lead citywide projects, assist with the implementation of City Council initiatives and provide essential support to the City Manager and Assistant City Manager, the City of Beverly Hills press release said.

"It is truly an honor to return to the City of Beverly Hills," Yap said in a statement. "I am so thankful for this incredible opportunity to work for a City I admire so much and have deeply missed. I look forward to the work ahead and once again serving this world-class community."

Yap has more than 15 years of experience in the public sector, working in leadership roles at the L.A. County Chief Executive Office and at municipalities across Southern California, including the City of La Habra Heights where she served as Assistant City Manager.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts from UCLA and her Masters of Public Policy and Administration from Cal State Long Beach. Yap is a member of Women Leading Government and the International City/County Management Association, where she is a candidate to receive designation as an ICMA Credentialed Manager, the press release said. She will start with the City of Beverly Hills on December 9.
