Beverly Hills Offers Free Catalytic Converter Etching For Residents

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — As the theft of catalytic converters from parked cars continues to plague the Southland, Beverly Hills is offering residents a way to help protect their property and assist prosecution efforts.

The Beverly Hills Police Department's free Etch & Catch Program, which takes place Sunday, provides residents with free VIN etching onto their car's catalytic converter. Police say the etching helps deter theft and aids law enforcement in prosecution efforts.

Appointments are required for the event, which is only open to Beverly Hills residents. It takes place Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rexford/Civic Center Parking Garage.
