Beverly Hills Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Arrested After Police Chase Through LA: BHPD
The early-morning pursuit of a pharmacy robbery suspect in Beverly Hills ended in Watts, police said.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — An 18-year-old was arrested early Wednesday morning after he burglarized a Beverly Hills pharmacy and fled, prompting a police chase that ended in Watts, according to police.
Police received a call from at witness on Wednesday at 2:45 a.m. who observed the burglary at the pharmacy, located on Wilshire Boulevard near Roxbury Drive. Officers in the city's Real-Time Watch Center observed the incident unfolding and police closed in on the suspects in less than a minute, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
The suspects fled in a stolen Dodge Durango Hellcat, police said. The SUV, priced at over $100,000, can hit 60 mph in under 4 seconds.

After a brief pursuit, the suspects evaded responding officers, prompting police to request a Los Angeles Police Department helicopter to locate and track the suspects, police said.
The air unit later located the SUV on the 10 Freeway, driving eastbound "at a high rate of speed" and without its headlights on, police said.

The suspects exited the freeway near LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles, prompting an LAPD pursuit to the 1700 block of East Imperial Boulevard in Watts, police said.
When the SUV reached the area of Imperial Highway and 115th Street, four or five suspect ran from the vehicle as police established a perimeter. One suspect was taken into custody and the stolen vehicle was impounded, police said.
Sergio Giobanni Estrada Ochoa, 18, of Los Angeles, was booked on one count of commercial robbery, according to police.
Officers are still investigating the robbery and determining the exact loss at the pharmacy, police said.
