BHPD will join law enforcement across the nation in the event to promote strong police-community partnerships.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The Beverly Hills Police Department is throwing a block party as part of a national campaign meant to promote community trust and transparency in local law enforcement.
Residents are invited to the city's National Night Out celebration on the 400 block of N. Rexford Drive, in front of the library and fire station, from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1.

The Fire Department, Public Works, Community Services, library and other city departments will also pitch in to the festivities at the free event, which will include displays, kid-friendly activities and more.

Beverly Hills' theme is centered around honoring police K-9s; the Police Department recently mourned the loss of Aedan, the dog who served in the department for five years.
Over 38 million neighbors across 17,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases will come together to participate in similar events. The goal for National Night Out is to promote strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, law enforcement said.

Most communities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other community events. Often, organizers will offer safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits for people to experience.
“This is a night for our nation to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, some amazing things can happen,” National Project Coordinator Matt Peskin said.
In Beverly Hills, free parking will be available at the Rexford/Civic Center public parking structure.
Residents are encouraged to tag social media posts with #K90210 and #NNO90210 so the department can share photos and videos from the event.
