Carrie Fisher Died Of Sleep Apnea: Coroner

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Actress Carrie Fisher died of sleep apnea, according to an autopsy report released Friday by the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

The report indicates Fisher died of sleep apnea and "other undetermined factors." It also lists other contributing factors, such as heart disease and drug use, though the significance of the drug use was "not ascertained."

Her manner of death was ruled "undetermined," according to the report. The coroner's office has not responded to Patch's request for clarification.

Fisher, 60, died Dec. 27 after suffering a heart attack four days earlier on a flight home from London where she was promoting her latest book, "The Princess Diarist." Flight crews from United Airlines and passengers on the plane administered first aid until the plane landed at LAX. She was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center by the Los Angeles Fire Department but never regained consciousness.

Her mother, screen legend Debbie Reynolds, 87, died one day after Fisher's death. According to Todd Fisher, Carrie's brother, Reynolds was heartbroken over her daughter's death and wanted to be with her. Reynolds and Fisher were interred together at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.

The Beverly Hills compound the two shared as well as memorabilia from their decades working in Hollywood are expected to go on the auction block in September.
