Downed Power Lines Close Benedict Canyon Drive in Beverly Glen
A residence on North Beverly Glen Boulevard being evacuated because of a leaning tree that's likely to fall, the fire department said.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- A section of North Benedict Canyon Drive in the Beverly Glen area was closed Friday afternoon because of downed trees and power lines, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The downed wires were reported around 1 p.m., forcing the closure of North Benedict Canyon Drive at Hutton Drive, Margaret Stewart of the LAFD said.
Crews are working to clear the scene of fallen trees and power lines, she said.

Nearby, a large tree at the 2100 block of North Beverly Glen Boulevard was "compromising" a residence but has yet to fallen, Stewart said.
The tree is reported to be "leaning and likely to worsen," she said.

LAFD firefighters are assisting in the evacuation of a disabled resident, Stewart said.
No injuries were reported in either incidents, she said.
