Fruit, Garden Ergonomics: Upcoming Garden Demos At Greystone Mansion

Need help getting your garden started? Greyston Mansion will host a summer series of gardening tutorials starting Sunday.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Getting started on a garden can be hard, but a series of tutorial events at Greystone Mansion will help make planting fruit a fun summer activity.

Three events between July and August will set Beverly Hills residents up to plant fruit and make gardening an easy endeavor.

On Sunday, the city will host a tour of the Greystone Demonstration Garden with garden instructor George Pessin. Pessin will show off the garden's fruits, vegetables and herbs and share key tips for a home garden. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is open to all residents age 15 and older.

On Aug. 7, the city will host a fruit-focused tutorial to introduce residents to fruit culture. The event will discuss handling pests, fertilizing and buying the right tools. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will cost $12 for residents, $15 for nonresidents.

Aspiring gardeners will round out the summer series with a class on garden ergonomics, specifically curated to help Beverly Hills' senior residents. The class will be a collaboration between Pessin and physician Mechel Henry, who will walk through the proper tools and techniques to make gardening painless. The event will $12 for residents and $15 for nonresidents and will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
