BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Jeff Bezos' ex-wife and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott donated the couples' formerly shared Beverly Hills property totaling around $55 million in value.

The California Community Foundation was announced the massive donation in August and property records recently showed the houses were officially turned over, Dirt reported.

The donation includes two single-family houses totaling $55 million in value, the foundation said in a news release. The money will go toward the foundation's affordable housing grant making and immigrant integration program, according to the foundation.

The California Community Foundation has granted over $30 million since 2000 to help Angelenos security stable housing and economic opportunities, according to the foundation. The organization has also participated in advocacy efforts for legislation to increase affordable housing in the city.

Scott, whose net worth is estimated by Forbes to be $38.3 billion, has donated to the foundation before. After the couples' split, Scott has reportedly donated over $12 million to charity, Dirt reported. Scott signed a pledge to donate at least half of her wealth over her lifetime after her 2019 divorce with Bezos, Architectural Digest reported.

"The cost of housing stands out as one of the most critical issues affecting the lives of millions of Los Angeles residents. A priority for Ms. Scott, the primary focus of the $55 million will be to permanently endow grantmaking efforts to benefit Angelenos in need of affordable housing," the foundation said in a news release.

The 2.5-acre donated property includes a 12,000-square-foot Spanish hacienda-style mansion with a 4,500-square-foot guest house. The compound is complete with a lap-lane pool, a tennis court and 13 bedrooms, Dirt reported.
