Just A Drill: Expect Police Activity At Hawthorne Elementary
Beverly Hills first responders will simulate an active shooter situation for a training session at Hawthorne Elementary on Friday.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — First responders will practice responding to an active shooter situation at Hawthorne Elementary School Friday, meaning Beverly Hills residents could see and hear some alarming activity that is no cause for concern.
The training will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at 624 N Rexford Drive. It will include noises similar to discharging weapons and simulated on-scene medical treatment, according to Lt. Giovanni Trejo, public information officer for the Beverly Hills Police Department.
The department has conducted in similar trainings in the past, including an active shooter training scenario at Beverly Hills High School two weeks ago, Trejo said. The training is routine, Trejo said.
