Luxury Goods Burglary Crew Nabbed By Beverly Hills Police: PD
The arrests were part of a multi-department effort that nabbed five people wanted for stealing luxury goods across the state, police said.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Police in Beverly Hills arrested several Chilean nationals in connection to a series of residential burglaries across the state. The arrests were part of a multi-department effort that nabbed five people wanted for stealing luxury goods locally and as far away as the Bay Area, authorities said Wednesday.
Glendale police arrested Matias Jesus Soto-Barraza, 22, of Los Angeles, on Jan. 16. On the same day, Beverly Hills police arrested Joaquin Vergara-Contreras, 29; Elias Moncada Reyes, 30; and Juan Antonio Silva Loaeza, 42. All four are Chilean nationals, according to the Glendale Police Department.
A fifth suspect, Leidy Dayana Manrique, 30, was in custody in Ventura County in connection to related charges, according to Beverly Hills police.

Investigators served search warrants in connection to the burglary crew and recovered cell phones, signal jammers, firearms, jewelry and other various luxury items. Photos provided by police show a range of shoes, jewelry and handbags.

Detectives linked the crew to residential burglaries in Glendale, Beverly Hills, San Marino, Los Angeles, Burbank, Bakersfield, Ventura County, Orange County and San Mateo County.

"This investigation is ongoing. Detectives will be working with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office to assist in the successful prosecution of these individuals," police said in a statement.
