Man Pleads Not Guilty in Arson Cases in Beverly Hills Area, Hollywood

Dmitriy Sheyko is charged Wednesday with 19 felony counts including arson, burglary and use of a destructive device, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office announces.

Dmitriy Sheyko, 21, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday afternoon to 19 felony counts stemming from allegations that he set fire to homes in the Beverly Hills Post Office area of town as well as a Hollywood synagogue. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 2. His bail has been set at $3 million.

Sheyko is accused of setting fire to homes on Beverly Ridge Terrace and also starting a fire in a classroom at Temple Israel of Hollywood, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. In some cases he allegedly used Molotov cocktails.

Sheyko was arrested Monday by police assigned to the West Los Angeles Station, according to the sheriff's website.
