Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?
No.

Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
Yes, I was an Architecture Commissioner for the city of Beverly Hills.

Why are you seeking a seat on the City Council?
I am running for office because we need a strong leader with creative solutions for different problems. We need to make decisions that will impact future generations of residents in the city. We must strengthen the community, create a positive business environment, bolster public safety, embrace new technologies, develop urban infrastructure, support environmental friendly transportation that uses clean energy and doesn’t contribute to climate change.

What do you think are the top three issues for voters in this election, and how do you plan to address them?
3. Sustainable environments: We must develop architectural projects that are sustainable, well designed and affordable. They must blend in with the different areas of the city. Preserve our architectural heritage in buildings and residences that have architectural and historical value and we must be open to new development that contributes to the betterment of the city and services contemporary needs.

2. Economic sustainability: We must attract new businesses and economic development to bring revenue into our city.

1. Public safety: The protection of people and property is our top responsibility to the community. We must be vigilant and prosecute criminals that threaten the peace and stability of our community. We must increase the presence of police officers in our neighborhoods and commercial areas particularly in main streets and close to schools.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I have been an environmental designer for many years working with architectural and design firms addressing issues as how to create places that are more sustainable and have a better infrastructure. I was a city Architecture Commissioner for six years reviewing development design and architecture plans for dozens of projects, my area of knowledge in development is a big difference from other candidates.

I have also been involved in the city Technology Committee, Art Centennial and Strategic Planning Committee where we considered sustainability, issues of transportation and development.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Issues of climate change, mental health and cultural policy.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have been chair and vice chair of the Architecture Commission for six Years. Also I was council chair for a National Art Programs for BHUSD, also for 33rd District (300 schools) and a National Art Judge.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Always follow your dreams, work hard, be honest and be a good person! Given by my father.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
If you vote for me you will get someone who works very hard who understands the issues facing the community and always puts residents first.
