New Brush Clearance Expectations Set For Beverly Hills Homeowners
Beverly Hills residents will soon be subject to intensified brush clearance requirements due to fire risk.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Due to fire risk, some Beverly Hills residents may be expected to meet stricter brush clearance requirements, starting on April 1.
The Beverly Hills Fire Department will embark on its annual inspections for residences in designated as Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones by Cal Fire. This year, more Beverly Hills residents will be expected to clear out flammable materials near their homes.
Cal Fire designated the northern part of Beverly Hills a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. New California enforcement laws require the "removal of all flammable materials within five feet of any structure," enforceable through inspections from local fire enforcement. The new law added around 60,000 parcels to Los Angeles County's inspection list, according to the city.
