Police Blotter: Busted Deadbolt, Daylight Assaults and a Cell Phone Snatch

Two crimes on the 100 block of North Gale Drive are also covered in this week's roundup.

Property loss

At noon on June 26, someone allegedly stole from property from a home on the 1200 block of Coldwater Canyon Drive. The person entered the residence by unknown means, removed goods valued at $21,000 and fled.

Sometime during the evening of July 1, someone cut the chain locked around a home's temporary security fence on the 1900 block of Carla Ridge. The person is alleged to have used bolt cutters.

During the night of July 4, someone broke into a subterranean garage on the 100 block of North Gale Drive. The unknown perpetrator allegedly smashed the front drivers-side window of a car and removed property worth $150.

Nevermind

Between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. July 5, a male described as being 6-feet tall with black hair and about 30 years old broke into a home on the 400 block of North Doheny Drive. The man allegedly entered the premises by cutting through the screen of an open window. He then fled through the front door without taking any property.

Deadbolt fail

Between 3 and 6 p.m. July 6, someone entered an apartment on the 200 block of North Crescent Drive. The suspect allegedly punched out the front door's deadbolt, snatched property valued at $3,300 and fled.

Stolen laptop

Sometime between July 7 and July 14, a laptop was removed from a private office on the 400 block of North Roxbury Drive. The victim reported a loss of $700.

Limo assault

Just after 6 p.m. July 9, a limousine driver reported being assaulted by a passenger in the area of South Beverly Drive and Wilshire Boulevard. The suspect allegedly yelled and punched the driver while riding in the limo, then fled the scene on foot.

Front door thief

At about 5 a.m. July 10, someone pried open the front door to a property on the 200 block of South Robertson Drive. The person allegedly entered the premises, removed goods worth $2,300 and fled.

Eyewitness

At about 4 p.m. July 10, someone was observed assaulting another person on the 100 block of North Gale Drive. The suspect allegedly punched the victim and attempted to pull the victim out of a vehicle.

Phone taken

Just before 9 a.m. July 11, a man described as being 5-feet 8-inches tall and 230 pounds allegedly assaulted someone on the 9900 block of Durant Drive. The victim reported being pushed by the suspect and robbed of a cell phone worth $400.

Beat down

At about 6 p.m. July 11, an assault occurred at a party in the area of North Rexford Drive and Sunset Boulevard. A victim reported being attacked by a group of six to eight males while leaving the gathering. The group of men allegedly punched and kicked the victim while on the ground.
