Premier English Soccer Team Joins Delta to Make 3 Children's Hospital Patients Dreams Come True

The three were 'Honorary Footballer for the Day' for Chelsea Football Club

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — London-based Chelsea Football Club joined Delta Airlines, the team's official airline, to make three patients at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles have one special day Tuesday. The kids were honorary Chelsea Footballers for the day.

The three, Jacob Torres, Alex Idolor and Christopher Escobar, were outfitted with team gear and met with players Asmir Begovic, Nemanja Matic, Victor Moses, Bertrand Traore and Pedro, and watched them practice at the UCLA campus in Westwood. They then got to live out their dreams by joining the players on the field for some drills.

"They took their roles as honorary players very seriously, working up a sweat doing drills with fitness coach Chris Jones and partaking in a full on routine testing their technique, balance, and athleticism," Delta spokeswoman Lauren Hobson said.

Torres, Idolor and Escobar then joined the players at the Beverly Hills Hotel for a game of foosball. But the experience didn't end there. Delta and Chelsea surprised the kids with tickets to watch Chelsea take on their rival Liverpool at the Rosebowl on Wednesday and also a trip to London with their families to experience a Chelsea home game.

"The kids had a blast!" Hobson said.
