• Smoke from\u00a0controlled burn near Big Bear may be seen in the High Desert (vvdailypress.com) — A prescribed burn on the north side of Big Bear Lake, near Highway 38 and Polique Canyon Road, will send smoke across the Big Bear Valley between December 18 and 20. Residents and drivers may notice smoke and fire crews along roadsides as officials work to reduce overgrown vegetation and lower future wildfire risk, with operations dependent on safe weather conditions.
