Burlingame Hiring Summer Sustainability Intern
The city is looking for a summer intern to assist the Sustainability Coordinator and Environmental Regulatory Compliance Manager.
BURLINGAME, CA — The City of Burlingame is hiring for a paid summer internship for the city’s Sustainability Coordinator and Environmental Regulatory Compliance Manager.
The internship is geared toward a college student, recent graduate, or graduate student interested in advancing the city’s environmental initiatives. Activities may include:
- Creating and expanding social media and outreach materials
- Engaging with local businesses and multi-family properties to encourage them to enroll in composting services
- Working with local food facilities to support them in switching to compostable or reusable food ware
- Participating in events such as tabling at farmers markets and coordinating clean ups
- Strategizing on ways to engage young people in sustainability
Salaries will range from $16.76 to $20.39 an hour. Interns will work 20 hours a week for approximately 12 weeks, with a flexible start date.
