21K Without Power Due To Fire At Peninsula PG&E Substation
This is the second fire recently in the Bay Area to cause major outages.
SARATOGA, CA — Around 21,000 customers in the South Bay were without power Wednesday morning following a fire at a Pacific Gas & Electric substation in Saratoga, the utility company reported.
PG&E officials said that the fire started around 8:25 a.m. and was contained shortly after 10 a.m.
PG&E workers said they provided support to first responders and crews.

Last Saturday, a separate fire at a PG&E substation in San Francisco caused a massive power outage, leaving over 100, 000 of the utility's customers in the city without electricity. For some customers, power was not restored until the early hours of Tuesday.
The company has not released any further details about Wednesday's fire.
