Burlingame Residents Eligible For Electric Vehicle Rebates
Residents can receive rebates of up to $4,000 if they purchase a used electric vehicle via a program by Peninsula Clean Energy.
BURLINGAME, CA — Burlingame residents are eligible for rebates of up to $4,000 if they purchase a used electric vehicle via a program by Peninsula Clean Energy.
Regardless of income, residents can receive a $700 rebate for a plug-in hybrid and $1,000 for a fully-electric vehicle. Income-qualified residents are eligible for rebates up to $3,700 for a plug-in hybrid and $4,000 for fully electric vehicles.
Peninsula Clean Energy, the official electricity provider for San Mateo County, partnered with the non-profit clean energy provider GRID Alternatives Bay Area for the used EV rebate program.

“These rebates, coupled with our expansive efforts to install new charging infrastructure, create an unprecedented opportunity for San Mateo County residents to transition to electric vehicles that significantly save money and drive down greenhouse gas emissions heating our planet,” said Burlingame City Council Member Donna Colson, who is vice chair of Peninsula Clean Energy's board of directors. "This is also a great opportunity for our local used car dealerships to continue their post-pandemic rebound."
EVs that qualify for the rebate program must be either eight-years-old or newer with a pre-incentive purchase price of $25,000 or less.

"Partnering with Peninsula Clean Energy means more San Mateo County residents, especially those in underserved communities, can have affordable access to cleaner cars,” said GRID Bay Area Executive Director Arthur Bart-Williams.
