Burlingame Tree Lighting, Winter Fest Returns Friday
The tree lighting and festival are expected to draw many pedestrians to the area, and a few road closures will be in place until late.

BURLINGAME, CA — Burlingame will host its annual tree lighting ceremony followed by Winterfest Friday, bringing some holiday cheer and closing a few roads from the afternoon into the evening.
The tree lighting is scheduled for 5 p.m. at City Hall Plaza, and Winterfest celebrations will continue until 8 p.m. The evening's festivities include train rides for kids and photos with Santa Claus.
The event will require a few stretches of road to close from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.:

- Burlingame Ave. from Lorton Ave. to Primrose Rd
- Primrose Rd from Floribunda Ave to Chapin Ave
- Bellevue Ave from Almer Rd to Primrose Rd
City officials encourage visitors to use public transportation if they are able, and organizers are planning for a large number of pedestrians in the area. Drivers can look for parking neighboring lots, including the new parking garage at 161 Highland Avenue. Officials warn parking will be limited, and temporary restrictions may be in place around Burlingame Avenue and City Hall.
