Burlingame Woman Named Community College Vice Chancellor
Local woman appointed Community College Vice Chancellor of Economic and Workforce Development
A Burlingame woman has been appointed as the Community College Vice Chancellor of Economic and Workforce Development by Gov. Jerry Brown.
Van Ton-Quinlivan, 42, has served as the director of workforce development for PG&E since 2006, according to the governor's office.
Before that, she was a faculty member at De Anza Community College from 2002 to 2004 and vice president for Internet marketing at education company Knowledge Universe from 1999 to 2001.

She also was a corporate strategist for Pacific Bell from 1995 to 1997 and the director of strategic marketing at telecommunications provider Digital Island, according to the governor's office.
She will be paid a salary of $116,508 in her new role as vice chancellor. Ton-Quinlivan, a Democrat, does not need state Senate confirmation to assume her new post.
