'Cat-ober' Offers Free Feline Adoptions On The Peninsula
Dozens of cats are up for adoption with no fees as part of the 'Cat-ober' promotion at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA in Burlingame.
BURLINGAME, CA — Dozens of cats are up for adoption from the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, and the shelter is waiving fees for the rest of the month to help them find forever homes before "Cat-tober" is over.
The holiday-themed promotion is good for any feline friend ages six months and older, allowing families the chance to add a new member without the usual up-front costs. The cats looking for a home range in age and include a bonded pair of seniors named Hops and Barley.
"Cats are simply wonderful, and we have more than 68 cats available for adoption," said Buffy Martin Tarbox, the shelter's communications manager. "Even though the adoption fees are waived on all our cats aged six months or older, we will still be following our strict and rigorous adoption processes since we want to make permanent matches."

All cats adopted from the shelter have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Kittens are also available for adoption for the usual $120 fee. The Burlingame shelter is open for adoptions daily between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and visitors are asked to arrive at least an hour before closing time.
