My New Red Shoes Gets March Helpers

A Menlo Park elementary school will partner with My New Red Shoes in the month of March.

A Burlingame non-profit has a new partner.

Menlo Park's Oak Knoll Elementary will partner with the Burlingame-based philanthropic organization My New Red Shoes. MNRS is an organization that aims to help children from low-income households in the Bay Area gain confidence by wearing new shoes and clothing.

leaders seek parent volunteers to help facilitate the life skill acquisition of the month for March, which is “acceptance and compassion.”

Meredith Walsey, grade level coordinator for the fourth grade at , is looking for parents to help collect donations during a shoe drive that will take place during the morning drop-off. 

The shoe drive will take place between 7:40 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. from March 12 through the 16.

Walsey also needs help with making cards during lunch recess, and gift bag sewing.
