New Burlingame Community Center Wins Environmental Award

Peninsula Clean Energy granted the new center a 2022 All-Electric Leader Award for its eco-friendly design.

BURLINGAME, CA — The new, eco-friendly Burlingame Community Center was awarded a Peninsula Clean Energy 2022 All-Electric Leader Award.

The 36,000-square-foot community center, set to open in May, will be Zero Net Energy, in accordance with the city’s 2019 climate action plan. Its design features a 215-kilowatt solar system, electric appliances, a dashboard on display in the lobby to allow visitors to see the building’s system energy performance, and more.

The new community center will replace the 70-year-old center in Washington Park.
