Nominate the Citizen of the Year
The Burlingame Lions Club is looking for its Citizen of the Year.

The Burlingame Lions Club is looking for the 2012 “Citizen of the Year Award”. The club is now accepting nominations of Burlingame residents who, through volunteering time and effort, have contributed significantly to the community.
The Burlingame Lions Club has been recognizing a Citizen of the Year since 1930. This is the 82nd year of honoring an individual with this award.
The award aims to recognize citizen involvement within Burlingame for the betterment of the community. Activities, service organization memberships, civic group associations and personal contributions leading to the improvement of Burlingame should be noted in the nomination.

Recommendations for a nominee should be in written form and be submitted by Wednesday, May 16, 2012, to: Glenn Mendelson, President, Burlingame Lions Club, P.O. Box 206, Burlingame, CA. 94011-0206, or e-mail: glenn1@ix.netcom.com
The winner is honored at the annual Joint Services Luncheon, held on Monday, June 7, 2010.

According to the Burlingame Lions Club, here are the criteria and conditions of nominations:
1. Any individual who has made a noteworthy contribution to the City of Burlingame.
2. Nominations may only be made in writing.
3. An individual or an organization can make nominations.
4. Previous award recipients are ineligible for nomination.
5. Supporting written material and copies of other documents may be attached to the nomination form if desired.
6. The decision(s) of the judges are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Nominations close at 4.30 pm on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
8. The individual selected, should be available to attend the Burlingame Joint Services Luncheon to be held on June 4, 2012.
9. Nomination information in relation to winners may be used for publicity purposes.
10. Nominees must be residents of the City of Burlingame.
11. Persons cannot nominate themselves.
12. Winners may be asked to make themselves available, without cost, for publicity purposes.
Last Year’s Award was given to Phyllis Everson, for her many years on community involvement, and dedication to the City of Burlingame.
