Police Blotter: Man Escapes Cab Through Window and Stolen Donuts

Tuesday, April 10

2:15 a.m. A group took a small sign from a parking lot on the 0 block of California Drive. Police contacted group members, who returned the sign.

12:20 p.m. A pile of tan bark was smoldering in a section of the park on the 1500 block of Balboa Avenue.

12:36 p.m. A man was arrested on the 200 block of California Drive for stealing donuts and coffee.

5:25 p.m. A mini ike was found in an easement on the 1100 block of Bernal Avenue.

Wednesday, April 11

11:49 a.m. A resident reported a white truck driving very slowly at Balboa Avenue and Carmelita Avenue.

1:51 p.m. A resident found his gate open and window screens slashed when returning home to the 2700 block of Adeline Drive. No entry was made into the home.

6:52 p.m. There was a dispute between neighbors when one yelled at the other's dog. Both were told to leave each other alone.

Thursday, April 12

1:16 a.m. A cab driver reported a drunk male refused to pay his cab fare on the 100 block of Lorton Avenue and jumped out of the window. The man's family was contacted and took care of the fare.

3:47 a.m. Someone was ringing a doorbell on the 1000 block of Laguna Avenue.

5:00 p.m. Two kids threw a stick at a car at Cortez Avenue and Newhall Avenue.
