Prevent Gas Theft

As gas prices go up, so do the chances of gas siphoning. Keep your car safe.

Gas prices are on the rise again, and with them, the chance of fuel siphoning, according to the Burlingame Police Department April Crime Prevention newsletter.

As prices go up, the more value gas gains, and the more likely fuel siphoning, or gas being stolen from a car’s tank, will occur.

There are ways to prevent this kind of stealing, such as using a locking gas cap and parking in safe, well-lit areas. Keeping a close watch on your car’s fuel tank helps, too.
