Question of the Week: Barry Bonds Trial

This week, the perjury trial of Barry Bonds got underway. Bonds is accused of false statements and obstructing justice relating to the 2003 investigation into Burlingame-based Bay Area Laboratory Co-operative, or BALCO.

Bonds appeared before a federal grand jury in 2003 while BALCO was under investigation for distribution of anabolic steroids and money laundering. At the time, he claimed he never knowingly took steroids or human growth hormones from his trainer Greg Anderson, was never injected by Anderson and only took vitamins from Anderson leading up to the 2003 season.
