Rescue Pet of the Week: Dizzy, Daze and Kiwi

Are these three friends for you?

Looking to start the new year with a special little guy(s)? Then look no further! We are currently housing 3 Cherry head conures. These little guys have a few special requirements, as they have been through so much in the past couple months. Dizzy and Daze were transfered from another shelter and are a bit under socialized, but Kiwi came to us as a stray in really bad shape with several broken bones, emaciated and lethargic. Now he is all healed, extremely active and vocal, as are Dizzy and Daze.

Now the special part is that none of these birds can fly very well, if at all. They need a savvy bird owner and should not go to a home with cats or dogs. For more information on these conures, please contact PHS/SPCA’s Exotic Department 650-340-7022 ext x354.

To visit these birds or other adoptable animals, come over to the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. The shelter is open for adoptions Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. We are located at 12 Airport Blvd. in San Mateo next to CoyotePoint Park. For directions and information, call 650-340-7022 or visit our website.
