Student Poet of the Day: Nicole Malik

In honor of National Poetry Month, Burlingame Patch will be highlighting a student poet Monday through Friday for the remainder of the month.

These talented student poets are enrolled in a writing workshop at in Burlingame. The workshop is being taught by Writing Program Coordinator Janette Nikolakopoulos.

Student: Nicole Malik

Bio: Nicole Malik is eleven years old and goes to BIS. In her advanced language arts class, her teacher encourages her to be as descriptive as possible when writing. In her spare time, Nicole loves to hang out with her friends.

Poem:

“Summer”

The dew drop splashed onto a leaf

as new life formed all around.

The fawn danced in the sunlight

while the bees barely made a sound.

Summer is on the way.
