Week Ahead: Community and School Board Meetings

Check out what's happening in Burlingame this week.

What's on tap for this week? Keep an eye out for these events and stories this week. We'll be there to cover them.

  • There will be a community meeting Monday on proposed 2012 solid waste rates. The meeting will be held in the Lane Community Room at 7 p.m. The City plans to raise rates up to 25 percent. A question and answer session will be included.
  • The Planning Commission meets in Council Chambers at 7 p.m. on Monday. They will be discussing the wireless telecommunications ordinance, as well as the draft environmental impact report for development of a new office/life science campus.
  • San Mateo County is hosting a Town Hall forum Tuesday at 6:30 in Redwood City on state public safety realignment.
  • The Burlingame Elementary School District Board of Trustees meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the district administration office.
  • The Traffic Safety and Parking Commission meets Thursday at 7 p.m. in City Hall.

The City is seeking to fill two vacant seats in the Traffic Safety Parking Commission. The Council is likely to appoint the commissioners to the full three-year term. Application deadline is January 13, 2012.

The City is seeking to fill one vacant seat on the Beautification Commission.  Application deadline is February 10, 2012.
