50 MPH Winds May Hit Calabasas Area: NWS

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Calabasas through Thursday afternoon.

CALABASAS, CA — Calabasas will see gusty winds Thursday, according to the National Weather Service for Los Angeles and Oxnard.

The city will see winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour, according to NWS. The advisory started Tuesday at 10 p.m. and is expected to last through 12 p.m. Thursday.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor objects and be extra careful while driving, according to NWS. Drivers should be cautious on the Interstate 5 and State Routes 101, 14 and 126.

The winds could also result in power outages in Calabasas and around the San Fernando Valley.

The Santa Ana wind event will affect nearly all of Los Angeles and Orange counties, according to NWS.
