All Things Pumpkin Invade DeAnza Park for Annual Festival
The Calabasas Pumpkin Festival included crafts, food, music, games and more.
Scores of people visited De Anza Park for the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival over the weekend.
Available were pumpkin headbands, pumpkin beer, dresses with pumpkin-printed fabric, pumpkin candles and, of course, pumpkin pie.
Some festival-goers came just to stroll the lane of booths selling the crafts and food. Some came for the live music—this year provided, in part, by the popular 80’s themed Spazmatics. Kids, some in costume, came to play the carnival-style games and jump in the inflatable bounce house attractions. And some adults even got into the pumpkin seed spitting contest, as you can see in the video.

Some were first-timers, like the Chasen family of Agoura Hills.
“We just moved to the area,” said Jessica Chasen as she watched her three boys climbing on an inflatable dinosaur-themed bounce attraction. “It’s a great family activity. And it's inexpensive—that helps. We’ll definitely be back.”

Others were Pumpkin Festival veterans.
“I’ve been coming for years,” said Mabel Crawford of Calabasas. “We used to bring the grandkids, but they’ve moved away. Now a bunch of us girls come together.”
Whether new or old, after a weekend of all things pumpkin, revelers are ready for the biggest pumpkin day of all next week.
