Calabasas City Council To Return To In-Person Meeting
Calabasas City Council will return to council chambers Wednesday for hybrid meetings after over two years of Zoom.

CALABASAS, CA — Calabasas City Council will return to in-person meetings Wednesday after over two years on Zoom.
The council on Sept. 28 decided to move city council meetings in person starting Wednesday, with commission meetings following after. The council will discuss commission meetings' format in January.
Starting Wednesday, City Council meetings will continue indefinitely with council members and members of the public at 100 Civic Center Way. Online participation will still be available for members of the public and council members with special circumstances. Meetings will still be streamed via CTV.

Multiple council members, including Alicia Weintraub, noted the importance of maintaining hybrid participation for members of the public.
"I'm in favor of going back as long as we can maintain the hybrid meetings. I think we're able to reach so many more people in this format who might not want to sit through our whole meeting. They can have it on in the background and join when they want — I don't want to lose the active participants that we've gained over the last few years," Weintraub said.

Mayor Mary Sue Maurer suggested the council resume a sweet old tradition.
"This is exciting!" Maurer said. "What we used to do is after every council meeting in person is we would regroup and not talk any business but have a dessert. I think that would be a great tradition to reestablish."
