CALABASAS, CA — Now that Christmas is over, it's time to clean up from the holiday revelry. Fortunately, Calabasas residents with real Christmas trees won't have to go through much trouble to properly dispose of them.

Until Jan. 13, Waste Management customers can recycle Christmas trees, garlands and wreaths using their green curbside bins for no additional charge, according to the city of Calabasas.

Trees should be cut into three-foot sections. All tinsel, lights, decorations and stands should be removed.

Residents in the Malibu and Santa Monica Mountains waste disposal districts can place trees on the curb by 6 a.m. on their regular service day, through Jan. 16. Trees over six feet must be cut in half, according to Los Angeles County officials.
