• Giant oak axed along Thousand Oaks Boulevard due to safety concerns (thecamarilloacorn.com) — A massive, storm-damaged oak tree along Thousand Oaks Boulevard was removed after city inspectors deemed it an immediate safety hazard, requiring the property owner to plant a replacement oak. The story also recalls a July tragedy at Calabasas’ King Gillette Ranch, where a falling branch killed a child and injured others, underscoring regional tree-safety concerns.
