Puppy Love: Apply For A Free Spay/Neuter Voucher in Calabasas

Residents in certain cities, including Calabasas, qualify for a voucher to help get a furry friend home easier.

CALABASAS, CA — Residents in certain Los Angeles neighborhoods can apply for a free spay or neuter voucher with the county to help bring a new cat or dog home.

Residents in unincorporated Los Angeles County or Calabasas, Baldwin Park, Bell, Compton, Monterey Park, Rolling Hills, Santa Clarita, Walnut and West Hollywood qualify for the promotion.

All Los Angeles County pet owners are required to have their pets spayed or neutered, but these services can cost between $70 and over $200 depending on the pet type and size, according to the Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles. The only exceptions include pets that would be significantly harmed by a spaying or neutering procedure, service dogs, law enforcement dogs or competition animals.
