Week in Review: Tough Times for the Sheriff's Station

Malibu/Lost Hills deputies face bad news in the form of a lawsuit and a canceled event due to budget cuts.

The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station has seen better days.

Within the last week, one of its own deputies filed a lawsuit against the LA County Sheriff's Department alleging that he was passed him up for promotions after arresting Mel Gibson in 2006 on suspicion of drunk driving.

Later that week, the station announced that its annual open house had to be canceled due to a lack of funding to pay deputies and other specially trained employees to be present at the event.
