• Imperial Valley welcomes record class of new teachers in ceremony (ivpressonline.com) — New teachers who trained in schools from Calipatria to Calexico are graduating from a local San Diego State–Imperial County program, helping ease the region’s teacher shortage. The record class of 57 student teachers completed intensive coursework, hands-on classroom experience, and major certification tests, and many are expected to be hired into Imperial Valley districts soon.
